Mental Health

Your mental health deserves the same care and attention as your physical health.

Mental health is part of your overall wellbeing, we ‘re here to listen, help you understand what may be contributing, and support you with practical next steps.

Mental health consultations

Sometimes the first step is simply talking about it.

Mental health can be shaped by many things — including genetics, life experiences, stress, medical conditions, major changes or trauma.

Whether something has been building for a while or you’re not feeling like yourself, your GP can listen, explore what may be contributing and help you work out what comes next.

GP mental health treatment plans

A Mental Health Treatment Plan gives you time to understand what you’re experiencing, discuss your goals and plan the right support.

Where appropriate, your GP can refer you to an eligible psychologist or mental health professional for Medicare-subsidised treatment. Your first referral may cover up to 6 individual sessions, with further sessions available after review, up to 10 per calendar year.

Anxiety & depression

When worry starts taking up too much space.

Anxiety and depression can affect sleep, energy, motivation, appetite, relationships, work and daily life.

If you’re feeling on edge, overwhelmed, withdrawn or simply not yourself, your GP can help you understand what’s happening, explore possible triggers and discuss treatment and support options.

Stress, burnout & sleep

When pushing through starts affecting how you feel — and how you sleep.

Work, family, relationships and everyday pressures can build up, leaving you overwhelmed, exhausted or running on empty.

Stress and burnout can disrupt sleep, mood, concentration and physical health. Your GP can help identify what’s contributing and work with you on practical ways to recover, rest better and feel more like yourself.
